What's Up, Tina?

Five hobbies

I recently saw this post on Reddit about five different hobbies.

Define different hobbies including:

  1. It's something that makes you money.
  2. Something that makes you move your body.
  3. Something that keeps you creative.
  4. Something that builds knowledge
  5. Something that evolves your mindset.

I can't help but wonder what hobbies I have that fit this list?

And so I sit on it and fill in the details.

So far, here are my hobbies respectively to that list:

  1. Number one is your job. As for me, I approach teaching as my hobby. I don't know, but there is satisfaction that I get when I teach to someone. I've been a corporate girl for the past seven years and nothing brings fulfillment then teaching. I know it's cliché to hear, but what my previous teachers said was true.

This links to my customer support job before where I helped out customers with their QuickBooks issue and I can't explain when I share my knowledge with my customers, as well as helping them out resolve the issue. So I guess my life is just revolving about human connection and sharing knowledge.

  1. I don't have any exercise which is really sad because I should have one to keep my body moving. I used to walk 10,000 steps early in the morning but now, times have changed. I should get back to this list and think of what my next exercise regimen.

  1. I'm currently tapping into my creative side. I was so consumed with work and university before to the point that I lost my writing and my design skills. Now that I graduated and left the corporate world, I make time for diamond painting, coloring, and also writing in my blog. I used to be very creative when I was a child but because of work I don't have much time. At the moment I'm working on a novel and I can't wait to share it with you.

  2. Reading is by far the best. I tend to read three hours a day on different topics and different mediums on the Internet. To me gaining a lot of information is very addicting to the point that I can't sleep at night because I have to seek out answers. Right now I am currently studying astrology and also reading about the Vietnamese language. Right now I am reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green.

  1. Traveling is usually the answer to this category, but then I wanted to be different from all the answers. Scuba diving is one of the things that opens my eyes to how beautiful the ocean is. Every time I scuba dive, I think that I am an alien visiting a different world. The ocean is such a mysterious place and even if it's just 60 feet above water, I still can't think of many ways how vast the ocean world is. That's why it saddens me. If I see garbage during my dive, a hundred percent I will get the trash out of the corals.

Now it's your turn.

Have you ever thought about it?

As human beings, we are not designed to just work, work, work.

We are also designed to be relaxed and creative.
